It’s funny, we all want to change but most people are not prepared to take the action to start the process. What is the power of change? Why should we even consider it? What will it do for us? Just look at Facebook. It seems like every second post in your timeline is a quote about how great it will be once you change your life.
So there is no doubt that 95 percent of us are not happy with our present circumstances but only a tiny percentage each year make the effort to take the action to put change into place. Is it laziness? Yes. Is it procrastination? Yes. Is it being too comfortable in our current surroundings that makes it too hard to change? Yes.
FEAR OF FAILURE AND SUCCESS
But most of all it’s fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of rejection, fear of being alone, fear of being mocked. Then there is fear of leaving the herd and fear of fear itself. But what I see in most people is the fear of failure and the fear of becoming a success.
But why would someone fear success Kev, I hear you ask? Don’t people crave success? Yes they do but they also worry what may happen to them when they achieve success. They may lose friends, have to work harder, have more responsibility and actually change who they are. Scary stuff for most of us. When you discover the power of change you will wonder why you took so long and feared so much.
And that brings me to the core of this article, what is the power of change. In order to change our life we have to become someone else. Why? Because the person you have been all this time is not succeeding. You are not moving forward and you are reading all the Facebook quotes and inspiring stories and still nothing changes. Have you noticed? The person you are right now who craves success is not the person who is going to achieve success.
BECOMING SOMEONE ELSE
What is the power of change? Let’s start here. So how do we become someone else, someone who is a better version than our current model? How do we become our true, inner being, our true self? We have to start by accepting the fact that who we are now is the result of events outside of us that have occurred over many years.
It is said that by the age of 30 our personality is set in stone and can never change.
That theory was first brought to public attention in 1890 with Harvard psychologist William James’ seminal text – The Principles of Psychology:
“In most of us, by the age of thirty, the character has set like plaster, and will never soften again,” he wrote.
Well, times change William and with quantum physics being a huge game changer in the psychology and physics fields it is now proven in many studies that we can indeed change our mind and our brain. Just read or listen to anything by Dr Joe Dispenza to know how true this is.

The power of meditation. Yes we are getting closer to answering the question ‘what is the power of change?’ So without getting too technical you can change your life. And the first step is making the decision to actually change. Once you have done that it’s funny how the universe kind of starts following you and opening doors.
The next step is to work out who you want to become. This takes some quiet inner work. What is the best way to do inner work? Meditation. Meditation in it’s simplest form is just spending time in silence alone with yourself. No phone, no TV, no pets, no kids, no books. Just you and silence. Before you go to that sacred space (and if you don’t know how to meditate click Learn to Meditate) write down in your journal the person you want to be.
CHANGE OR STAY WHERE YOU ARE
You wont get that new car, new house, new partner or new life by being the same person. You have to change before change happens. So write down the type of person you want to be. So things like ‘financially successful’ attractive to the opposite sex’ ‘physically fit and healthy’ come to mind. Write down the exact person you need to be to create the dream life that you want.
Once you know who you want to be then you get into meditation and focus on becoming that person. See yourself as that person. Visualise yourself being that person in particular situations you want to see yourself. When you become better at meditation and start meditating for longer than a couple of minutes you will get to a place Dr Joe Dispenza calls the ‘field of infinite potentials.’
This is where you are totally present in the moment and are not infringed by your body, time or space. You become just energy. It’s a life changing feeling when you get there. This is where change happens. To learn more about that space check out Dr Dispenza’s video’s on Youtube.
THE KEY TO CHANGE
The key to changing who you are is your emotions. You have used your mind to picture who you want to be but now it’s time to feel with emotion who you want to be. So when you are spending your time meditating and visualising who you want to become, also start to see yourself where you want to be but most importantly feel the emotion of really being there.
When we start to feel it inside our brain doesn’t know if its real or imagined. So subconsciously that feeling, that emotion is being released into the universe. You are acting as though what you want is already there. You are acting as though you already are that person you want to become. And the universe is putting that person together in the quantum field, the field of infinite possibilities.
Now you don’t need to know how all this works you just need to know it works. Trust the universe because if you don’t you wont be changing anything. You will be the same person you are today in 12 months time. Practice this visualisation everyday and start to live it. If you try it for a week and then think no this is not working then you are wasting your time. Do this everyday. I do it morning and night. Without fail. That’s how I changed my life. Success leaves clues.
WHAT IS THE POWER OF CHANGE?
“Success is something you attract, not something you pursue.” – Jim Rohn
You have to become the person you want to become before you can attract the success you want to attract. We become before we attract. We grow personally before we advance materially. That is how the universe works. You can’t cheat it. You can’t work your way around it. It is a universal law. So when you ask what is the power of change know that it all comes from inside you and it will change your life.
The power of change is not “if I had more money I would be a better person.” What is the power of change? The power of change is “be a better person and you will have more money.” A better leader and you will have respect. Be a better athlete and you will make the grade. Be a better parent and your kids will respect you. A healthier person and your disease will leave your body.
Become the person who is going to attract the things you want. This works. It’s real and once you get it your life will change forever. As Gandhi said ‘Be the change you want to see in the world.’

Once you do this and you start becoming that person the next step is to start meditating on manifesting your dreams and goals. You use the same system. See yourself as the person you want driving the dream car, living in the country and the house you love, being with the man or woman of your dreams. But again the key is to see and feel it. The world you want to create is out there in the field of infinite possibilities waiting for you. Don’t be reading this in 12 months wishing you had made some changes today.
What is the power of change? You are the power of change. What do you want to do? Who do you want to become? Make your decision today. Never live with regrets!
